About Us

In 2003, Colchester and Northwestern School Districts consolidated to create the West Prairie Community Unit School District 103#.  The new district currently serves 600 students in four school settings.  Both South Elementary and the Middle School are in Colchester, Illinois.  West Prairie High School is located in Sciota, Illinois  and North Elementary can be found in Good Hope, Illinois.  Students from Blandinsville and Tennessee also attend schools in the West Prairie School District.

West Prairie values the educational experiences provided in the rural school setting.  Academic offerings have deep foundations in agriculture, technology, STEM, social-emotional learning and restorative practices.  The West Prairie Board of Education has outlined a Vision and Mission for the school district.  Both are supported with Belief Statements and areas outlining the Priority Goals of the district.
